I hated it at school! But now I think it is great! (And see my answer to another student)

Like? I don’t know about that, but I definitely think it’s one of the most useful skills to have. Far more than I ever imagined when I was at school.

And it doesn’t have to be ridiculously difficult either. Different people just need to have things explained to them in different ways, and that’s hard to do when you’re in a class of 30 people.

Yes I do, I’ve kind of taken a while to get there though!

I much preferred it at school to subjects like English because I liked how there was a right or wrong answer so I found it easier to learn. Then at A-levels & university it got so much harder and I really struggled. By the end of my degree it finally clicked, all those random rules that we’d been taught suddenly made sense when used in context.

Yes, it can be really useful. It gives you a big advantage to be able to calculate things quickly.

Yes I did like it. I enjoyed the fact that you seemed to get a single answer. Im not sure that’s real maths though. I know people that went to University to do Maths and found the work very creative, philosophical and terribly difficult. So Im glad I got into the application/practicality fairly fast which is waht my style of engineering is.
